Heroes:My true hero is my Mom who at age 63, has survived three different cancers and still bowls with me every week! She has had so many hardships in the past four years, but she has always been positive. She is my strength.
I was searching through my mail for something and I realized, "Oh yeah, I still have a bowlspace account." Like the post says, "Does anyone really read this anymore?" Seriously though...it seems as though this website was all the rage...now, no one seems to bother anymore.
Well, I shot a 734 and a 633 last week. The 633 should have been much higher, but the lanes broke down 3x and totally threw my timing off.
Had some work done on my Scorchin' and my No Mercy. Seems to have refreshed both of them. Beats the heck out of buying a new ball..BAH!
Okay--so the foot is not feeling ANY better, right? I called up my regular doctor to see if he could look at it. He says, "Bring the x-rays that the other doctor took." No problem. He looks at them and low and behold--I have a Fracture in my foot afterall.
There really isn't any other treatment other than resting it (yeah right). I didn't go bowling last night, because quite honestly, it hurt alot and I really could not imagine putting a shoe on. Hopefully, I can bowl next week.
Okay--two weeks ago, I did something really stupid. I walked into the leg of a chair in my house. Now, this chair has been in the same spot for 5 years, so it isn't something new. A Non-Klutzy person would never have walked into it, but low and behold, I did.
Hubby took me to the emergency room, because I swore I broke my toe. My foot swelled up like a balloon and turned a very nice shade of purple. X-Rays said it wasn't broken, just severely bruised and to stay off of it. Yeah right!
I took a week off of bowling and went back last week. I threw two practice balls and I thought I was going to die. The pain was intense! That was the first time I actually had shoes on and not flip flops or sandals.
Anywho, I sucked up the pain and shot 217-214 and by the last game, I just could not take it anymore and shot 153. It was very frustrating, because I was throwing a good ball. Oh well.
Cannot believe it has been 8 months since I updated. For some reason, my home computer freezes up when I try to log on and I just quite honestly, kept forgetting.
My winter season finshed up with a bang--averaged 208 in one league and 202 in another. The 208 got me a spot on the Top 5 team, but quite honestly, the 202 was in a harder center and means much more to me. I had the best year of my life--7 700's and quite a few more that should have been.
This summer, I'm bowling in a men's league and bowling very well. I actually shot my first ever 290 a few weeks ago and that was special.
Hope everyone has been well. I'll try to update more often.
I cannot believe it is November already. Where did the time go? It goes by so very fast...it's scary. Been bowling rather well. Last week, I had a 277-650 on Wednesday. The week before I had a 677 on Sunday. Just rolling really well.
Almost had some interesting news...was almost the alternate for the County Top 5 team. In NJ, the State WBA holds an inter-county Top 5 Scratch Tourney every year. All the WBA associations take their Top 5 averages to participate in a tourney against each other. At 203, I knew I didn't have a shot at the Top 5 in my association. Our ladies have been rolling very well in the past few years--low to make the team was something like 210. But they also need an alternate. It almost came down to me, but the lady before me is doing it. It's ok--I made the team twice before and it is quite the honor. Would have been nice. Oh well...
